Domingo Santana – Age 26 with 2+ years experience was .278-88-30-85-15 in 2017 at age 24. Kyle Seager’s absence makes Ryon Healy busy at third base, which raises Healy’s value and which causes Jay Bruce to become busy at first base, which helps create more playing time in the outfield. Santana who might have been playing less than every day thus gets more generous usage from Scott Servais. When Seager returns (May? July?) there will be some squeeze on the outfield, which Santana will probably weather well although that isn’t guaranteed. Meanwhile Santana is in the catbird seat for playing time, and he’s doing well with it.
